Ayurveda means the "science of life". Ayurveda can also be helpful in the field of gynecology. For example, an unfulfilled de-sire to have children can be questioned Ayurvedically and treated Ayurve-dically. Ayurveda promotes health based on the so-called Doshas. These basic biological con-stitutions form the fundamental factors of health and disease in Ayurvedic healing. The three doshas are comparable to the three main forces of nature: Vata( wind, movement), Pitta( heat, temperature) and Kapha( moisture, stability). These three doshas determine our inner climate through their changing interrelationship in rhythm with time and aging. Infertility - Ayurvedic Causes
According to Ayurveda, conception de-pends on the health of the sperm, the egg and the uterus. In this regard, a healthy shukradhathu (reproductive tissue) is nec-essary for fertility in both women and men. The shukra tissue is where the eggs are formed in women and the sperm in men. As per Ayurveda Shukra tissue or the re-
productive element itself is formed through a long chain of metabolic transformations from food to serum, blood, muscle, fat, bone, bone marrow, and finally to shukra tissue. There-fore, a healthy shukra tissue depends on the health of all other tissues in the body. Infertility, according to Ayurve-da, is caused by the following factors:
Poor diet and slow digestion do not adequately nourish the reproductive tissues. Frequent eating of spicy, salty and hot food increases the dosha Pitta and destroys Shukra (Semen). Excessive sexual activity leads to loss of semen and impotence. Controlling sexual needs for a long time leads to inhibition of semen and a decrease in libido. Accumulation of toxins in the body causes disruption of the delicate bio-chemistry of reproductive tissues and blocks circulation. Physical and mental stress, nervous system imbalance, low natural re-sistance, and a poor immune system can lead to infertility. Infections or trauma can cause dam-age to reproductive tissues resulting in infertility. Infertility can also be con-genital. Menstruation in Ayurveda
From an Ayurvedic point of view, normal menstruation proceeds accord-ing to the dosha constitution and can be divided into three phases: Kapha phase: the phase between the end of bleeding and the beginning of ovulation. Pitta phase: The phase between ovulation and menstruation.

Vata phase: Apana Vata (a sub-dosha of Vata, the downward flowing energy), which pushes the menstrum down and out and empties the uterus. If Apana Vata is blocked during menstru-ation, this can cause all kinds of pain, bloating, dryness, anxiety, insomnia, low or irregular bleeding, bleeding with clots, or infertility. Infertility Ayurvedic therapy
If infertility is to be treated Ayurvedically, it is first necessary to know the patient's dosha constitution. Then the elimination of toxins and foreign substances can begin by means of Pancha-Karma therapy, the most important purifying treatment in Ayurveda. According to Ayurvedic pa-thology and physiology, infertility usually occurs with a malfunction of Apana vata, which is best treated with a medicated en-ema. Therefore, several months before try-ing to conceive, it is recommended to cleanse the digestive system to promote
digestive efficiency. The third point is to balance the menstrual cycle. Intestinal sluggishness during ovulation and men-struation should be avoided. The Vata should be kept in balance dur-ing the Vata bleeding phase by sufficient relaxation, rest and rmth, and the Kapha during the constructive phase by eating nutritious and digestive diet - this will promote ovulation. During the Pitta phase, rest should be observed and alco-hol, coffee, fermented and spicy food should be avoided. Healthy eating habits are also part of the therapy: there are some foods that have a special affinity with the reproductive system. These foods need to be consumed more: Whole grain products, milk, ghee (clarified but-ter), cream, almonds, walnuts, pumpkin seeds, seaweed, asparagus, broccoli, cum-in, turmeric, dates, pomegranate, mango and grapes. The intake of low-value fat and animal protein should be reduced, and alcohol, cigarettes, and excessive coffee consumption should be avoided. Specific herbs to increase fertility are summarized in the table. Ayurvedic herbs for increasing fertility
Ayurvedic herbs for fertility enhance-ment 1.Shatavari(Asparagus Racemosa): regu-lates ovulation and estro-gen production, aphrodis-iac, sperm increasing, re-juvenating( for women).
2. Triphala (mixture of the three fruits Embelica officianalis, Terminelia bellerica and Terminelia chebula: removes block-ages, keeps the pelvic area loose, prevents constipation and boosts the immune system.
3. Kumari( Aloe Vera): cleans-es and nourishes the reproduc-tive tissues, regulates men-struation.
4. Ashwagandha(Withanis somnifera): improves erectile function, increases sperm count, enhances sperm's own motility.
5. Kapikachu(Mucuna pruri-ens): treats all kinds of male functional weakness, sperm increasing.
6. Gokshura(Tribulis ter-restris): treats all kinds of blockages in the bladder sys-tem and prostate glands.
7. Guduci(Tinospora cordifo-lia: aphrodisiac, spermatogen-ic , diuretic.

Regular exercises to increase the circula-tion of the reproductive system, such as the contraction and relaxation of the pel-vic floor, are also therapeutic measures. Yoga is an essential part of Ayurvedic therapy. Establishing a regular daily routine with set routines for sleeping and eating is also part of the treatment. Also important is stress reduction through meditation: the tension of try-ing to get pregnant can lead to con-striction of the fallopian tubes and the blood vessels that supply the uterus and nervous system. Relaxation is therefore important so that nature can do its work. Loving and being loved is the best reme-dy for fertility. Rejuvenation therapy- including daily massages, warm herbal packs and special herbal teas- can also be helpful. Organic disorders in the reproductive organs can only be corrected by surgical intervention, but infertility due to func-tional or physiological conditions can be easily treated with Ayurvedic therapies.
